I started life with the Royal Mail & really enjoyed my first work experience

I changed course to enable me to work in an industry which was more suited to my sales strengths; relating, interacting and talking to people with the view of helping them. I had just purchased my own home and became interested in the property market, fuelling my interest in the mortgage business. I  passed the relevant exams and began working as a mortgage broker, initially in a local estate agent.

It was a steep learning curve, but an enjoyable one, and it led me to forming my own estate agency , The Mallard Property Group in my home town of Llanelli . I  sold my shares in the Estate Agency and kept the Mortgage business. By this time I was a well established and respected mortgage adviser, both locally and Nationally

In 2005 I joined forces with a family friend, who had his own IFA business. We opened a combined mortgage and IFA company called FSW Ltd,of which I was one of the founding directors. I remained there until 2019 when I decided to return to concentrate purely on my own independent  mortgage brokerage

Since then the business has grown,and has three skilled and enthusiastic people involved. We dovetail our strengths seamlessly, with the clients’ needs always a priority. We strive to give clients, whether new or existing the very best experience and service.

I’m a proud  Welsh rugby fan, classic car fanatic and family man. When speaking to clients I often say “if you were my daughter/son  I would suggest…” as I advise every client as if they are my family. Indeed, many clients who I’ve advised for years feel like family by now as I am advising children of my original clients, and the third generation are not far behind!

After finishing college I thought I’d put my business qualifications to good use by joining the largest Independent Welsh estate agency. It was a sink or swim scenario , but I rose to the challenge and had a great career there . The glass ceiling meant that my opportunities were limited , and after  becoming branch manager , I realised that my interest in property finance was my real driver.

 I passed the exams in my own time and became a qualified mortgage broker. Whole of market was very important to me and looked around for an opportunity to create a legacy for my young family. This led me to Mark Lloyd , with whom we shared many mutual clients during my Estate Agency days.

 Being an integral part of a local specialised team , giving Whole of market , independent mortgage advice is at the core of the brand I’m proud to represent
